President's Message

WELCOME TO SANTA ROSA JUNIOR COLLEGE

Bienvenidos! As we begin the 2023-2024 academic year, I want to thank you all for the warm welcome you have extended me as the new Superintendent/President of Santa Rosa Junior College. Our culture of inclusivity, academic excellence, and student equity is evident throughout SRJC’s campuses and sites.

You have chosen to join an academic community that is committed to your goals and success. Over the summer, I have had the honor of connecting with many of the dedicated classified professionals, faculty, and administrators who ensure that your experience is grounded in SRJC’s mission, vision, and values. As we begin this journey together at SRJC, I am eager to meet all of you and hear how SRJC can support your growth, goals, and the future you imagine for yourself and your community.

The start of a new academic year brings renewed enthusiasm and excitement. It can provide the opportunity to reflect, re-imagine, and re-activate the ways in which to fulfill our goals of becoming a better version of ourselves through higher education. I invite you to bring your full selves when you are at SRJC. Our inclusive community is united by our value of “Community Engagement and Relationships,” which upholds our commitment to cultural competency, trust, ability to embrace difference, and forge opportunities for interconnectedness. We believe in the power of gaining knowledge to transform lives and uplift communities when connected to our actions. Whether your goal is to earn a certificate, degree, transfer, or a new skill, you will find the support you need to achieve your dreams at SRJC.

For over one hundred years, SRJC’s legacy in Sonoma County has made an impact throughout the community’s economic, educational, health, and civic energy. As just the 6th president in the herstory of SRJC, I am honored to join the esteemed faculty, classified professionals, and administrators to serve Sonoma County. SRJC, at its core, has a strong academic tradition, a culture of student service and success, and an unwavering commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice. Like many of you, I am ready to start this new academic year by becoming a fully engaged member of the college, building authentic relationships, and fostering a teaching and learning environment that promotes the legacy and promise of SRJC.

In community,
